Jemez Mountains Waterfalls

The Jemez Mountains are located northwest of Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are a magical place rich in native history, brilliant red rock cliffs, hot springs, fishing streams and lake, and waterfalls.  The Jemez Mountains have a number of beautiful and unique waterfalls. Soda Dam is the most unique and is easlily accessed. It is “where water from underground hot springs has flowed for centuries. The buildup of mineral deposits has formed a unique and spectacular natural dam that blocks the Jemez River. It is one of the most photographed spots on the Trail” (LEARN MORE HERE).

Another amazing set of waterfalls can be found at the Gilman Tunnels. These tunnels have been craved through solid rock. One of the Maze Runner movies was filmed at this location. It is also a favorite spot for rock climbers who use bolted routes to scale the cliffs. (Gilman Tunnels)

Jemez Falls is a must see. It is the largest waterfall in the Jemez Mountains. There are more waterfall to talk about, but the best option is to book your Jemez Mountains Tour (Waterfalls, Tunnels, Cliff Dwellings, Mountain Lake, Cave, Red Rock, and Hot Springs).

Guadelupe Ghost Town and Chacoan Outlier Native Ruins

New Mexico is rich in beauty, history, and culture. Our state is the perfect place to explore the great outdoors. If you are looking for new places to discover and explore, please contact Enchanted Light Tours for your next adventure.

The Tapia Canyon Hike Tour is an experience you do not want to miss out on. We will drive through some beautiful Northern New Mexico countryside. On the way to the canyon, we will visit the little ghost town of Guadalupe. This ghost town is deserted now, but it once had an active hotel and bar, post office, several adobe houses and a church.  The last time I visited Guadalupe half a dozen horses approached me, acting like they wanted to pose for pictures.  We will also stop and explore the unique Chacoan Outlier native ruins.  This is a magical area! You will be transported back in time as you stand on the same ground native Americans stood many years ago when they lived there. The vistas are breathtaking and picture worthy.  From there we will continue on to Tapia Canyon, where we will hike past genuine petroglyphs, explore more native ruins, see a large natural arch, and walk through a slot canyon. Book your Tapia Canyon adventure today.
